How Much Korea answers one question: what does this actually cost in Korea, and am I being overcharged?
Why the site exists
Search for the price of almost anything in Korea and you get the same three results: a page written years ago, a forum thread from 2019, and a range so wide it tells you nothing. None of them answer the thing you actually want to know, which is whether the number in front of you right now is fair.
So a table here does not just give you a number. It gives you the official average for the item, individual prices read off real menus, the unit they are all converted to, and the point above which a price stops being ordinary.
What makes the numbers different
- They are dated. Every table states the month it was checked and how many places were surveyed.
- They come from Korean sources. Government price surveys, delivery apps, map listings and photographed menus, material that English-language sites generally do not read.
- They are converted, not estimated. Where a menu prices meat by the portion, we convert from the weight printed next to it rather than guessing what a portion weighs.
- They are reviewed every quarter, because prices move.
Our Editorial Policy sets out the sourcing and update process in full, including how AI is and is not used.
What this site is not
It is not a booking service, a discount site or a review site, and it has no relationship with any business mentioned. Prices are observations with a date on them, not quotations, so always confirm with the business before you buy.
